Assistant Directors Retreat

The 2026 Assistant Directors Retreat is designed to empower Assistant Directors with the tools, knowledge, and leadership skills necessary to thrive in their current roles while preparing for future leadership opportunities within the TRIO profession. Participants will engage in interactive workshops, collaborative discussions, and practical learning experiences focused on program operations, compliance, staff supervision, strategic planning, and student success. Guided by the theme, "Lead Where You Are Today to Prepare for Where You Are Going Tomorrow," this retreat emphasizes that effective leadership begins by excelling in your current position. By building a strong foundation today, Assistant Directors will be better prepared to confidently step into tomorrow's leadership roles and continue advancing the mission of TRIO.

Please Note
- You should not be required to pay a deposit when making your reservation.
- If the online reservation system requests a deposit, do not complete the reservation online. Instead, contact the hotel directly at 870-686-9001, and a representative will assist you with booking your room.
- The deadline to receive the AASAP group rate is Wednesday, September 16, 2026. After this date, the discounted rate and room availability cannot be guaranteed.
Hotel Age Restrictions & Security Procedures
The following policies are established and enforced by Saracen Casino Resort:
- Guests must be 26 years of age or older to reserve a hotel room.
- Individuals under the age of 21 are not permitted inside the hotel or casino resort under any circumstances, including staying overnight in a guest room.
- All guests must present a valid government-issued photo ID at the security checkpoint before entering the property.
- All luggage will be screened through the resort's security scanning system upon arrival.
We recognize that many of our TRIO colleagues may not meet the minimum age requirement to reserve a room. If you are eligible to reserve accommodations, we encourage you to assist younger colleagues with their lodging arrangements when appropriate.
Please plan accordingly to ensure a smooth arrival and check-in experience.
Conference Refund Policy
- Full refunds will be issued if a written request is received by the Registration Chairperson at least 30 days prior to the first day of the conference.
- No refunds will be issued for cancellation requests received less than 20 days prior to the conference.
